WELCOME TO GLOBAL SOUNDMAP
We started Global Sound Map as an artproject in 2005.
The idea was to create a new kind of map, a sound map over our hometown Göteborg, Sweden – Göteborg Sound Map.
The map was based on site specific sounds, choices from the citizens of Göteborg. This opportunity to participate and share experiences where thought to point on the joy to become an alert listener
Today there exists a map over Göteborg whith a number of spots, The project enters from now a new phase. We want to expand to places and cities all over the world, The Global Sound Map
We also introduce a new method on this webbsite. Create a soundsymbol that reflect just your sound experience and make it possible to communicate this. A visuell tool for letting other people tune in to your favorite Sound Spot.
We invite everybody interested in urban sounds to participate in the
Global Sound Map. Welcome to leave your favourite ”Sound Prints” here,
